The Inishowen Peninsula is flanked to the east by Lough
Foyle, to the west by the beautiful Lough Swilly and to
the north are the Cliffs of Malin Head, the most northerly
point in Ireland.
Greencastle,
Donegal’s second most important fishing harbour, is
situated on the east side of the Inishowen Peninsula close
to where Lough Foyle narrows at Magilligan Point. On this
side of the peninsula are the coastal villages of Redcastle,
Whitecastle, Greencastle and Moville.
“Inishowen
100“, named from the distance around the peninsula
via the coast road, is a popular touring route for visitors.

Inishowen is undeniably one of the most picturesque parts
of Ireland and many sights are just a short trip from Greencastle.
Some of the popular ones include the spectacular Urris Hills
and the Gap of Mamore, which offer panoramic views of the
coast, the Glenveagh National Park and the Derryveagh
Mountains to the south west; the majestic Lough Swilly and
the cliffs at Dunnaff and Malin Head.
